1. Who We Are

Houston Home Services Guide (houstonhomeservicesguide.com) is an independent directory that helps Houston-area homeowners find and contact vetted home service contractors, including plumbers, electricians, AC and heating pros, roofers, and other trades. The site is operated by Topper Digital and is based in Houston, Texas. We are not a contractor, and we are not affiliated with any government agency or licensing board.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and when we share it. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to connect you with home service pros in the Houston area.

Information you provide directly:

  • Name, phone number, and email address, when you submit a quote request, contact form, or the AI assistant lead form.
  • The service you need and your location (for example, "AC repair in Katy"), when you use our search or AI assistant.
  • Review or feedback submissions, if you choose to leave them.
  • Business information, if you claim a contractor listing. This includes your name, business name, email, an optional phone number, your website, a short business description, and any photo you upload.

Information collected automatically:

  • ZIP code or neighborhood, when you use our search tools.
  • AI chat conversation summaries, when you use the AI assistant. A summary may be stored to provide context and to follow up if you request contact.
  • Usage data through Google Analytics (page views, session length, referral source), in aggregate and anonymized form. Analytics loads only after you interact with the page.
  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device type, processed by Cloudflare as part of hosting and security.

3. AI Assistant

Parts of the site include an AI-powered assistant that helps answer questions about home services in Houston. When you use it:

  • Your questions and a summary of the conversation may be stored to improve the service and to give context to a pro if you request follow-up contact.
  • Conversations are processed by a third-party AI provider under that provider's own privacy policy.
  • Do not share sensitive personal or financial information (such as account numbers or payment card details) in the chat. Use phone or email for private matters.
  • The assistant provides general information only. It does not provide professional, legal, or financial advice, and it does not guarantee any contractor's work.

If you submit the contact form within the assistant, your name and phone number are stored and may be shared with relevant contractors in your area as described in Section 5.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • Respond to your quote requests and connect you with relevant contractors.
  • Pass your contact details to contractors when you request quotes or follow-up.
  • Publish and moderate any reviews or feedback you submit.
  • Improve the AI assistant and site functionality.
  • Send confirmation or status emails related to your request (not marketing).
  • Comply with applicable law and protect against fraud or unlawful activity.

We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell it to data brokers or third-party marketing companies.

5. Sharing With Contractor Partners

When you request quotes or ask to be contacted, your name, phone number, email, and the service you need may be shared with home service contractors in your area of interest. Contractors use this information only to follow up on your request. We deliver these leads by email and, in some cases, through a partner customer-management system.

Categories of third parties we may share your information with:

  • Licensed and vetted home service contractors serving the Greater Houston area.

These contractors are responsible for their own privacy practices once they contact you. We do not sell your personal information. Sharing for the purposes above is not considered a "sale" under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA).

To opt out of contractor sharing: do not submit a quote request or contact form, or email hello@houstonhomeservicesguide.com to request removal of your information.

6. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

  • Cloudflare: hosting, CDN, database, image storage, and security. Acts as a data processor and does not sell personal data.
  • Google Analytics: aggregate site usage analytics. Data is anonymized. You may opt out through your browser settings or the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.
  • A third-party AI provider: powers the AI assistant. Conversation data is processed under that provider's privacy policy.
  • Email delivery provider: used to send quote-request notifications to contractors and status emails to you.
  • Google Business Profile data: source of the aggregate ratings and review counts shown on contractor pages. Individual review text is not published on this site.

7. Data Security

  • Personal data is stored in Cloudflare's database (encrypted at rest).
  • All site traffic is served over HTTPS.
  • Access to our admin tools is restricted to authorized administrators.
  • We do not collect or store payment card information.

No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

8. Your Rights (Texas TDPSA)

Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Texas residents have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Deletion: request deletion of your personal data.
  • Opt out: opt out of the sharing of your personal data for targeted advertising. We do not conduct targeted advertising.

9. Children's Privacy

This site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices change. Material changes will be noted with a revised effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
